Principal Compensation

The current Principal Compensation plan in North Carolina is based on school size and student growth as measured by EVAAS (Education Value-Added Assessment System), which can lead to big swings in pay based on many factors beyond the principal's control.  It does not consider the complexity of the school.  Principals in our state deserve stable compensation that rewards them fairly and encourages them to remain in the profession.

In partnership with principals from across North Carolina, NCPAPA and NCASA are advocating for change in the way principals are paid in our state.  The following resources outline why revising the current pay plan is necessary and how to advocate for change.
